The Nuestro Arte mural project in Austin, TX is a tribute to artistic styles and clay-based art traditions from Mexico.  Community volunteers from ages 11 to 80-+ years old explored three artistic styles selected for the mural.  Under the direction of lead artist, Wanda Montemayor, volunteers learned about the art forms and then created hand-made ceramic tiles for the mural panels.

The mural can be viewed in the lobby of the YMCA Town Lake in downtown Austin, TX.
